Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, was not present when other candidates from other political parties signed the agreement regarding the 2023 election.
However, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, and others were present at the signing, as well as Kashim Shettima, Tinubu's running partner.
The National Peace Committee (NPC), which organized the peace accord, is led by Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former military head of state.
Remember how Abdulsalam stated last week that the candidates would sign two agreements following a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The agreement that will be signed on Thursday, in the opinion of the former military ruler, will ensure an impartial election without resentment. whereas the other, which deals with recognizing the consequence of the decision, will be signed in January, is one of acrimony.
