Power of the Holy Spirit
"Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." Romans 15:19
No one can do any mighty signs and wonders by the power of the flesh! No! No one can command excellent results in ministry like Apostle Paul without divine enablement and empowerment. Connecting with the power of the Holy Spirit is a Must if we do not want to remain useless and powerless.
As a child of God, show me one thing you can do in this life without the grace or power of the Holy Spirit. Except you want to work or do things in the flesh! The Holy Spirit is the enabling power of God.
And when we come in contact with Him, we come in contact with His power. Seeking the Holy Spirit is seeking His power.
And seeking His power is about seeking His enablement. Do you know that the power of the Holy Spirit enables you to be what God wants you to be and do?
You cannot do all that God wants you to do without His full power at work in you. No wonder, Jesus told His disciples not to depart Jerusalem until they were endued or saturated with power from on high. (Luke 24:49)
He also told them: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8
The power of the Holy Spirit is crucial and critical to our assignment of "being witnesses" and "doing witnessing." "Being witnesses" is about the Holy Spirit energizing our Christian living. While "doing witnessing" is about Holy Spirit energizing our soul-winning efforts. Wisdom demands that we connect with His power so that we could fulfil His purpose for our lives.
3 ways to connect with the power of the Holy Spirit:
1. The way of thirst
"For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:" Isaiah 44:3
The power of the Holy Spirit is poured upon the thirsty soul! Today, resolve to be thirsty for His power!
Let your heart earnestly pant for His power. Be deliberate about it, and be desperately desperate for it!
2. The way of fervent Prayers
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
Effectual fervent prayers are key to connecting with the power of the Holy Spirit. Do you want His power? Resolutely pray for it earnestly and fervently. For instance, the disciples devoted themselves to fervent prayers in Jerusalem while waiting for the enduement of the Holy Spirit.
3. The way of Faith
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."
Mark 9:23
Connecting with the power of the Holy Spirit is possible! All that is required is our faith. The truth is that we cannot get anything from God outside of Faith.
I decree and declare that you will always connect with the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus mighty name.
