Pursuit of Vision
"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." Habakkuk 2:2
Receiving or conceiving a vision is not enough. It is the pursuit of a vision that gives value to any vision. A vision without pursuit is useless! A vision must be transformed into a mission to impact lives.
Someone said, "All things are created twice: first, a mental creation; second, a physical creation." Mental creation will not bless people, but physical creation will. Vision is like an architectural design, a blueprint of a house! The blueprint of a house will never add value to people, except it is built. It is also the pursuit of a vision that will bless people.
Have you ever rented a house at blueprint level? No! Impossible! Bishop David Oyedepo said, "A discovery of vision and its pursuit is the gateway to the actualization of our glorious destiny in Christ."
But why is it that many people have been given visions but they are not doing anything about their visions? Simple! Because the pursuit of vision can disrupt their comfort.
Because they are not prepared to face difficulties of pursuit. Pursuit of vision will require sacrifice or risk. Pursuit of vision will require you to leave the known for the unknown.
Do you want to pursue your vision?
Then do the following:
1. Write the vision!
"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it." Habakkuk 2:2
It is the vision that is written or documented that can be pursued.
By all means, make an effort to articulate your vision on paper.
2. Set goals!
"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:3
Goal setting is about breaking down the vision into smaller pieces that are measurable in time and space. It is at the stage of goal setting that you define the "when" or the "appointed time" of your vision.
You must answer the following questions:
1. When do I start the vision?
2. When do I accomplish this particular phase of my vision?
3. When do I intend to arrive at my anticipated destination?
Many people don’t like to set goals because they think that if they are not able to accomplish them on time, they have failed. The truth of the matter is that “If you fail to plan you plan to fail.” Setting goals is what gives your vision a sense of purpose or seriousness.
3. Take action!
"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your selves." James 1:22
Become a doer of your goals! You deceive yourself when you fail to do something about your goals. It is not enough to set goals! You must be willing to take action steps towards the realisation of your goals. It is an action that gives meaning to your goals.
I decree and declare that you will be empowered by God to pursue your vision in Jesus mighty name.
