Thanksgiving to God
Have you been enriched by God in any way recently? Have you enjoyed His bountifulness in your life? If yes, then you must joyfully express your thanksgiving to Him. Ten lepers were healed by Jesus Christ, but only one of them returned to offer God thanksgiving. The Bible says,"Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God."2 Corinthians 9:11
"And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan."Luke 17:15-16
Thanksgiving is the expression of gratitude, especially to almighty God.
When you refuse to offer a joyful thanksgiving to God for all He has done or all He is doing in your life, then you are taking Him for granted. Those who know the secrets of thanksgiving will never fail to make progress in life. This Samaritan progressed from mere healing to perfect healing. Jesus said unto him,
"Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole."Decide to make thanksgiving a culture or a lifestyle. Make sure you are always grateful to God for everything He has done and is doing in your life.
1. Thanksgiving is a Decision!
"And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your own will." Leviticus 22:29Thanksgiving is a matter of the will, not a matter of feelings or emotions. People who wait until they feel like giving thanks may not give thanks at all. You just have to make up your mind to be thankful to God. Jesus felt sorrowful at the grave of Lazarus but He still made a decision to thank His Father. David a man given to thanksgiving said,
"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving."Psalms 69:302. Thanksgiving is a weapon!
What was the weapon used by Jesus to command life into Lazarus? Thanksgiving of course! At the grave of Lazarus, Jesus Christ lifted up His eyes and said, Father, I thank thee..."
Whenever thanksgiving oozes out of your heart and rises up to God, He is stirred into action to perform a miracle. Become a thanksgiver because thanksgiving releases great power of God into all facets of your life.
According to Psalm 100:4, we are to
“enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his Courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name”.What is a protocol?
It is the accepted or established code of procedure or behaviour. Heaven understands the place of protocol. Thanksgiving is an accepted code of procedure. We must come before His presence with thanksgiving, before placing a demand for anything! Without thanksgiving we are not qualified for any blessing.
You must greet God first, with thanksgiving before presenting your petitions or prayer requests! Heaven's gate will not open until thanksgiving is offered! Please understand that thanksgiving is to be accompanied with singing. The Bible says,
"Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:"Psalms 147:7I decree and declare that you will always be thankful to God in Jesus mighty name!
